चमोली- बीती रात भारी बारिश के चलते बदरीनाथ राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग पीपलकोटी के समीप भनेरपाणी और पागलनाला क्षेत्र में भूस्खलन के कारण अवरुद्ध हो गया था। मार्ग पर मलबा जमा हो जाने से दोनों ओर वाहनों की लंबी कतारें लग गईं। हालांकि सोमवार सुबह 9 बजे तक मार्ग को पूरी तरह से सुचारु कर दिया गया।
जिलाधिकारी संदीप तिवारी ने जानकारी दी कि एनएचआईडीसीएल की टीम ने सुबह 7 बजे से मलबा हटाने का कार्य आरंभ कर दिया था। क्षेत्र में हर वर्ष बरसात के दौरान भूस्खलन की स्थिति उत्पन्न होती है। फिलहाल एनएचआईडीसीएल द्वारा हाईवे सुधारीकरण कार्य भी पिछले छह माह से जारी है।
इधर, रविवार देर शाम से शुरू हुई मूसलधार बारिश सोमवार सुबह 5 बजे थमी, लेकिन इसके बाद सड़कों के बंद होने की घटनाएं सामने आने लगीं।

नंदप्रयाग-नंदानगर सड़क कांडई पुल के पास अवरुद्ध हो गई है।

वहीं ज्योतिर्मठ-औली मार्ग, कर्णप्रयाग-गैरसैंण-पांडुवाखाल हाईवे, ज्योतिर्मठ-मलारी-नीती हाईवे और सिमली-थराली-ग्वालदम मार्ग यातायात के लिए खुले हुए हैं।
नदियों का बढ़ता जलस्तर चिंता का कारण

अलकनंदा नदी का जलस्तर 952.80 मीटर तक पहुंच गया है, जबकि खतरे का निशान 957.42 मीटर है।

नंदाकिनी नदी 867.70 मीटर पर बह रही है (खतरे का निशान 871.50 मीटर)

पिंडर नदी 768.75 मीटर तक पहुंच चुकी है, जबकि खतरे का स्तर 773 मीटर है।

चमोली जनपद में बीते 24 घंटों के दौरान सबसे अधिक वर्षा चमोली तहसील में 93.6 मिमी दर्ज की गई। अन्य क्षेत्रों में वर्षा इस प्रकार रही:
