करण जौहर ने कहा, ‘मैंने चांस पे डांस किया। शाहरुख खान मेरे चांस थे और मैंने उन पर डांस किया। ये जो प्यार और इज्जत हमें ओवरसीज और विदेशों में भी मिलती है, इसका एकमात्र कारण शाहरुख खान ही हैं। ये सिलसिला ‘दिलवाले दुल्हनिया’ से शुरू हुआ। ‘तो पागल है’, ‘कुछ कुछ होता है’ उसके बाद ‘कभी खुशी कभी गम’ आई फिर ‘कल हो न हो’ फिर ‘देवदास’ आई। तो इन सब फिल्मों का जो ओवरऑल कलेक्शन है वो शाहरुख खान के कारण ही हो पाया है।’

पापा का बदला लेना था
करण जौहर ने कहा कि मेरे पापा की फिल्म पहले इतनी नहीं चलीं, जिसका बदला लेने के उद्देश्य से मैं इस इंडस्ट्री में आया था। हालांकि, अब मेरे लिए बिजनेस से ज्यादा कहानियां मैटर करती हैं। अब मैं 52 साल का हो गया हूं, मेरे लिए इंडस्ट्री में इतने दिन होने के बाद अब काम मैटर करता है, जिसे लोग मेरे जाने के बाद भी याद रखें। बिजनेस तो आज कल की बातें हैं।
