हैदराबाद। दक्षिण भारतीय फिल्म इंडस्ट्री के चर्चित और बहुआयामी अभिनेता कोटा श्रीनिवास राव अब हमारे बीच नहीं रहे। 83 वर्ष की उम्र में उनके निधन की खबर से पूरे फिल्म जगत और उनके चाहने वालों में शोक की लहर दौड़ गई है। अभिनेता ने चार दशक से भी ज्यादा लंबे करियर में 750 से अधिक फिल्मों में अपनी दमदार उपस्थिति दर्ज कराई और दर्शकों के दिलों में अमिट छाप छोड़ी।
उनके निधन पर आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री एन. चंद्रबाबू नायडू ने गहरा दुख व्यक्त किया है। उन्होंने सोशल मीडिया पर लिखा, “कोटा श्रीनिवास राव की कलात्मक यात्रा अविस्मरणीय है। उनका जाना तेलुगु सिनेमा के लिए एक अपूरणीय क्षति है।” नायडू ने यह भी याद किया कि राव न सिर्फ कला क्षेत्र में बल्कि राजनीति में भी सक्रिय रहे और 1999 में विधायक के रूप में विजयवाड़ा की जनता की सेवा की।

1978 में फिल्म ‘प्राणम खरीदु’ से अभिनय की शुरुआत करने वाले राव ने विलेन, कॉमेडियन और चरित्र अभिनेता के रूप में हर रोल में अपनी छाप छोड़ी। उन्हें नौ बार नंदी अवॉर्ड और 2015 में पद्म श्री से नवाजा गया। उनकी यादगार फिल्मों में ‘दम्मू’, ‘सन ऑफ सत्यमूर्ति’ और ‘डेंजरस खिलाड़ी’ जैसी हिट फिल्में शामिल हैं।
राजनीतिक जीवन भी रहा प्रभावशाली
कोटा श्रीनिवास राव ने 1999 से 2004 तक आंध्र प्रदेश विधानसभा में विजयवाड़ा ईस्ट सीट से बतौर विधायक अपनी सेवाएं दीं। जनता के बीच उनकी सादगी और स्पष्टवादिता को खूब सराहा गया।
